Inspired by Simone de Beauvoir’s 1943 semi-autobiographical novel, She Came to Stay (L'Invitée) is the thinly veiled story of her complex, open relationship with French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre and the young, naive provincial girl drawn into their world. A scent of possession and surrender, it captures the restless push and pull of desire - reckless, exhilarating, and impossible to contain.
The fragrance unfolds on your skin, like the pages of the novel. From unmade sheets steeped in vetiver leaves, imbued with the earthy carnality of oakmoss. Through the dark, open window drifts the dizzying scent of citrus blossoms from the gardens of Montmartre, dissolving into the languid afterglow of cedarwood. Traditional fragrance notes are rearranged and inverted, subverting the expected and reassembling it in ways that feel both intimate yet unfamiliar.

THE NOVEL
She Came to Stay (French, L'Invitée) is a novel written by French author Simone de Beauvoir first published in 1943. The novel is a fictional account of her and Jean-Paul Sartre's relationship with Olga Kosakiewicz and Wanda Kosakiewicz.
Set in Paris on the eve of and during World War II, the novel revolves around Françoise, whose open relationship with her partner Pierre becomes strained when they form a ménage à trois with her younger friend Xaviere. The novel explores many existentialist concepts such as freedom, angst, and the other.
